Aurora over Stellafane 2002-Sep-07

This beautiful aurora occured after the monthly meeting of the Springfield Telescope Makers. We came out of the clubhouse, sat on the wall and watched the lights dance across the northern horizon.

Since we weren't expecting to view an aurora, we weren't prepared with tripods and cameras set up, so these photos where done with a point-and-shoot camera steadied by hand on the stone wall -- needless to say some image blurring occurred.
